In a family full of sportspeople Tafts passion for sports and the world began from a young age. She played at different levels at college and school, but she chose to be a TV broadcaster. After graduating with a degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University Taft embarked her career with Fox Sports North as a local affiliate and sideline reporter. In addition to covering sports, she also worked as social media content creator and was a host for many games. Soon after, Fox Sports 1 hired Taft to join their News and Highlights department. Taft was a reporter for FS1 that covered a variety of prestigious tournaments. As a journalist on the sidelines of college football, she was elevated to be the primary college football reporter alongside Gus Johnson.
